Research Fellow of the Institute Wins the Danubius Young Scientist Award 2024
A research fellow of the R.E. Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology, and Radiobiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine PhD (Biol.) Taras Zadvornyi has been awarded the Danubius Young Scientist Award 2024 ((https://www.idm.at/en/activities/awards/danubius-young-scientist-award/).
The Danubius Young Scientist Award was established by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research (BMWFW) and the Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM). This prestigious award is presented annually to young scientists in recognition of their achievements in innovative research, high standards of scientific excellence, and the international significance of their work.
Taras Zadvornyi together with a team of young researchers, studies the role of the tumor microenvironment in the progression of malignant neoplasms, particularly prostate cancer. The scientists focus specifically on structural changes in components of the extracellular matrix, such as collagen, and their impact on tumor development.
This recognition underscores the importance of the scientific achievements of Ukrainian researchers and highlights their contribution to global science.
