Young Scientists of the Institute Receive the President of Ukraine Award

On January 24, Kyiv hosted the First National Forum of Talented Youth, bringing together over 400 participants. Among them were winners of international and national Olympiads, prize-winners of the World Robot Olympiad, athletes, and graduates with top scores on the national multi-subject test. Organized at the initiative of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the President of Ukraine’s Foundation for Education, Science, and Sports Support, the event served as a platform for experience exchange and inspiration for self-fulfillment in Ukraine.

One of the forum’s key highlights was the presentation of the President of Ukraine Award for Young Scientists by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This year, representatives of our Institute—PhD Taras Zadvornyi and PhD  Andrii Tymoshenko—became laureates of this prestigious award. Their research, «Identification of biomarkers panels for predicting high progression risk prostate cancer at course,» received recognition at the highest level.

The study focuses on molecular-genetic and epigenetic characteristics of the tumor microenvironment and the identification of biomarker panels for predicting the progression of high-risk prostate cancer.

In 2024, a total of 59 young scientists received the award, demonstrating the significant potential of Ukrainian science. The forum is set to become an annual event, supporting talented youth and fostering their professional development in Ukraine.
